I'm a matchmaker. I help people and companies connect with exceptional real estate professionals -- all over the United States (and even the world) -- to sell, buy, lease, and manage real estate, including condominiums, single-family homes, recreation and vacation homes, investment properties, land, and commercial properties. My services are free to you.

After taking the time to understand your circumstances and needs, and answering any questions you may have, I roll up my sleeves and get to work researching agents that can best serve your real estate needs. I then follow-up with you and suggest one or two real estate professionals. I don't use algorithms to identify agents, and, unlike competitive services, agents do not pay to be part of my network; my approach is highly personalized.

And since you are under no obligation to use (or even contact) any agent I refer, you have nothing to lose.

ABOUT ME

I have been a licensed real estate broker since 2004; for 12 years I served as a lobbyist for the Illinois Association of REALTORS® addressing and shaping a wide range of real estate policies at the federal, state, and local levels of government. Prior to that role, I headed public outreach and conducted real property tax analysis at the highest volume quasi-judicial tax tribunal in the United States. Both local and national media regularly have called upon me as a real estate point-of-contact. Proudly, I am a member of the Illinois Association of REALTORS®, National Association of REALTORS®, and the Lake County Property Investors Association.

 

I received my undergraduate degree in Journalism from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, and my master’s in Public Policy and Administration from Northwestern University. I recently concluded serving my local community as an elected public library trustee, and enjoy spending time with my wife, a school librarian, and three children.

Why should I use your service?


There are a lot of real estate professionals out there competing for your business and not all are alike. A great number of real estate agents, despite the best intentions, are inexperienced or serve clients beyond their expertise.

 

They do zero to just a few deals a year, don't invest in the tools to better serve their clients, don't keep up with their real estate education, and don't study the market and its trends.  And too often real estate agents, eager for business, take on clients outside their core competence, whether they are unfamiliar with the geography or the specific type of real estate. More simply, not all real estate professionals can best serve your needs and interests, and not all real estate professionals will tell you that.

It's important, to best protect your financial interests and ensure the smoothest possible transaction, that you find an exceptional real estate agent from the get-go. I take a highly personalized approach in identifying those real estate professionals that will provide you the best service.

 

Don't real estate agents just put listings in the MLS and show properties?


Real estate transactions are far more complex than often portrayed. The best real estate agents intimately know the communities and housing stock they serve. They also know how to handle the complexities and fires that arise in transactions, including multiple bidding, contingencies, appraisals falling short, inspection issues, and much more. A highly qualified real estate agent will not only help you find and list real estate, but competently navigate you through the process to help ensure your personal and financial interests are best protected. Other agents might have the best intentions, but just can't offer that same level of service.

Why can't I just use my second cousin who is a real estate agent?

You can and they may do an excellent job, but it's also possible they are not an ideal real estate agent for your circumstances, and end up costing you time, money, headache, and a strained relationship.

How do you identify the real estate agents you refer?

​

First and foremost, I listen to you -- what your current circumstances are, what type of real estate you intend to buy and/or sell, the geographic location, your price range, what you want out out of your agent, and the like. I then roll up my sleeves and, using industry resources and research skills, identify the best agent or two that can provide you outstanding service. Unlike other services, I don't use algorithms that pick an agent like a slot machine, and no agent pays to be part of my network -- they must earn it through expertise and service.

Am I under any obligation to use the real estate agent you refer?

​

Absolutely not. If I refer you to a real estate agent, you are under no obligation to use them, or even contact them. So, you have nothing to lose. 

​

How much do you charge?

​

My services cost you nothing. The agent I refer pays a referral fee only upon the successful closing of the transaction.

​

Can I just pick your brain and ask some real estate questions?

​

Absolutely. Even if you are not ready to talk to a real estate agent, and you just want to discuss your current situation and pick my brain about any real estate questions, please reach out to me.

What type of real estate can you help with?

I help people and companies connect with highly qualified real estate professionals to sell, buy, lease, and manage condos, single-family homes, recreation and vacation homes, investment properties, land, and commercial properties.

What price points do I work with?

I've helped clients find agents to lease a modest apartment, clients needing an agent for the sale of multi-million dollar commercial properties, and everything in between. .

I primarily identify agents throughout the United States, but I work across the globe.
